What does me being Cagdheer have to do with pointing out the obvious i.e. MSB was a patriot compared to A/Yusuf and we should honor his name, specially since he's dead? His government comprised of numerous individuals who focked up Somalia, why should he always get the blame while many within his government did many atrocities on his behalf and are today walking around freely?

Koronto, this is the king of logic that's holding somalia back. You want us to honor your warlords and traitors and those who did right by you and massacred others(MOD), but you at the same time want us to dishonor our warlords. You can't have it both ways. Siyaad barre was a dictator who brought socialism and nepotism to somalia and masscred many innocent somali people because of their clan , that's the damn hard truth. It's because of him that we're in this mess and every warlord has aspirations of being exactly like him.

What's so difficult to see? Unless, the intention is to blind ourselves to the truth? Comparing MSB's government to the mayhem of Aideed and the treachery of A/Y is just ludicrous.

Under MSB's government, people lived in peace, enjoyed free healthcare, free education, we had a great social program, MSB's motto of "Qabyaalad waa Qurun" was a success. Slogans like "Iskaashato" "Howlwadaag", etc. worked for Somalia and pulled us out of qabyaalad, social injustice and ignorance.

We became a power to reckon with, the government invested in agriculture, fishing and industry. Warshadaha Mareereey, Balcad, Tip-Top, Somali Fruits, Sigaarka & Taraqa were all up & running. The country's wax soo saar was through the roof, the government purchased 6 ships from Singapore in 1979; 2 cargo, and 4 fishing (the ones Muunye stole in 1991).

Jamaacada Gaheyr & Lafoole were both up to date with their curriculums and free. The government's program of 'Olalaha Waxbarshada' was a grand achievement. Hospitals Benadir, Madina, Martiini, SOS & Digfeyr were well-equiped and 100% free.

There were many social programs including that of MSB's wife's called 'Ururka Hooyooyinka' & 'Ubaxa Kacaanka' that worked to improve the lives of ordinary Somalis.

Our military was superp, we had MIGs, long range missiles, Russian helicopters, tanks, armored vehicles and even a naval airforce.

Why deny MSB all of these accomplishments? What has A/Yusuf achieved? What institutions has he re-opened? What is Somalia's current state compared to that during MSB's rule?
