99,9% of Somalia's crude oil is in Nugaal, Bari, North Mudug and Sool
Most of Somalia is blessed with natural resources and it is very important to keep that in mind. Not just oil and gas, but uranium and things of that nature. However, I have talked with a leading Somali geological engineer and an instructor in the King Fahad university of Petroleum engineering and he told me that the greatest potential of oil in Somalia lies in off-shore Mudug starting from Haradhere till around Kismayo, epecially between Mareg and Mogadishu. To verify his claims, I have contacted a leading Somali geologist in London and he confirmed his assertions. In fact told me that a leading French company signed an exploration deal the Arta government for the license to explore in that specific region.
there is oil in somalia...the CIA world factbook states that somalia has "uranium and largely unexploited reserves of iron ore, tin, gypsum, bauxite, copper, salt, natural gas, likely oil reserves "...but there is a problem with having an oil....for example four American petroleum gaints..(Conoco, Amoco, Chevron and Phillips)....had agreements with the African Nation before somalia's civil war began. which means big rewards for these compenies....if peace is restored...which also means...they going to explore and exploit tens of millions of acres of the Somali countryside.

The western companies who explored Somalia in the 80s all had only much interest in the North, They barely researched the south, even today you hear of some new deal made every once in a while in Puntland...
Theres only a few billion barrels crude oil in Somalia and 99,9% is in the Puntland region.
We shall be the next kuwait, qatar or UAE ! and we shall use hawiyes and xabesh to do manual labour and build our skyscrapers, like the arabs are doing with pakis and hindis lol
