leila because its not only wild spoken in parts of east africa but swahili was approved by the AU (African Union) to be recognized as a national language in Africa..so its an advantage to get used to it now-besides its spoken widely in Africa currently. i mean imigane if all africans can speak the same languege it would be usefull right.

i never knew that you could find more than 180 portugese words in swahili language.that means also that you can undesrtand the africans who live in cabo verde angola Guinea Bissau Senegal and Gambia.

It is always good to learn other lauguages. With swahili there are also arabic words like Baraka - blessing!

As for Africa being united I doubt that. Somalis who speak the same language same religion cant unite how can the rest!

Kiswahili is a million times better..
it is a Pan-african langauge with heavy arabic influence and easy to learn..
