Nope academics usually make poor leaders. Some of the best world leaders are uneducated and lead by heart.

Yep they make great leaders and are rational most of the time and are well rounded. Uneducated people are too bloody emotional and reach making disastrous decisons!

Just look at Dr Rice when she speaks and compare that to cowboy Bush!

^^

"Dr" Rice is nothing more than the unprincipled Negro Lady that must play the Yes Woman to stay Where She is. She follows Her gut and does the right thing for Her Country She gets deposed in a NY minute.

Meles Zenawi is the best President Eithiopia had and He didn't even graduate from College.

Leila

Bush went to yale , degree's don't make you anymore intelligent than the average person. The whole system is about money and depending on the status of your family and how much money you have, you can get a masters degree.

And this is coming for a guy going for a double degree and a masters soon.

Dr Rice is following orders from her boss and does what she is told as any other employee. What I am saying is she is eloquent and gives detailed explanation that is convising!

And yes when you have money and status then you can get educated in America but that is not the case in other countries.

I personally think educated people are way easy to deal and get things done and that is what leadetship is all about . Afcourse there are people born with leadership abilities and some get mentored or train but EDUCATION is important .

But the again you can buy a degree in America right!

Leila,

Being "Educated" just makes You good at bullshyt, and Yes You're right it is enough to fool the average idiot.

Cabdallah,

Eithiopia annexed an entire Country, and Addis Ababa is boombing and even some remote areas in Ogadeniya have seen some development. I have relatives in Shilaabo and they have companies all around them working on telecommunications, electricity, etc.

Ethiopia is one of the worst economy in Africa, they have great potential but due to government restrictions many sectors cant boom

for example the telecom sector, in Ethiopia its run entirely by the government and the lines suck and the rates are very high. Somalia has the lowest rates in Africa and one of the best lines in Africa, without a government.

Ethiopia is a country with 80 million people and should be on the level of Egypt, Nigeria, South Africa etc

True America has the best unversities in the world and getting educated is hard work. Its easy to work with educated folks as compared to uneducated. Even those with so many years of experience is difficult to deal with if they dont have a first degree.

Plus intelligent individual dont even mention how educated they are. I once worked with a girl in a project who seemed really sweet and polite and when I happen to come across her CV (by mistake) i was shocked!

But then leadership needs balls and making tough decision so you will need more than education to be a great leader.

I dont think so.

most policticians are lawyers with some law related experience,

and as a developing country i think only an engineer or a Doctor can be a good leader.

we need someone that can look at problems and find solutions after studying it, and a little bit of foddling here and there.

not someone that can sweettalk and bullshit his way out of dealing with problems.

we need a mahatir.
