Saw another article a while back, can't find it. There's a Sh. Aweys Al-Baraawe & Sh. Aweys Al-Qadiri, the Italian collaborator was from the 1940s, Sh. Aways al-Baraawe lived around the same period as Sayidka and died in 1909.

Mullah Shilling & Sheikh 1nkaarQabe,

Qaadiriyah/Sufism is ancient history! Wahabia is the way to go these days. We'll even issue free red cimaamas to new recruits.

Shilling,

Al-Ameer Sh. Xassan Turki doesn't need my physical presence there, the work we do outside is more important. The Ameer has a dream and that dream is to one day unite Somalia and rule it through Shari'ah, insha Allah.

What's the dream of A/Yusuf?

A/Yusuf wants a functioning government free of Wahaabi influence. Everybody knows Somalia is Muslim state so I don't know why you people are using the "diin" to further your Wahaabi interest; our "diin" is imprinted in our constitution, you should read it sometimes.

Calling A/Yusuf "gaal" is just futile, but you'll be answering to Allah in the hereafter for such a foul against such practicing Muslim.

Shilling,

Do you really believe what you just wrote? If a leader wants a functioning government, he acts like one, he does things to indicate that's what he wants. Destroying whatever was left of Mogadishu, looting its main markets and driving out close to a million of its residents is not how anyone with genuine interests in governing acts. He's been in Mogadishu for over a year now, what has he achieved?

I never called A/Yusuf a murtad, because that's not my business, but even you can't deny that some of his actions are treacherous both to his country & his deen. He broke 2 main verses in the Qur'an that warn against seeking the aid of kuffaars and not ruling a Muslim country through Shari'ah.

If he makes a speech tomorrow and says "I will rule Somalia through Shari'ah" I'll support him, but as long as he is a puppet of the kuffaars who have no interest in a productive Somalia, then he will remain as an enemy to all (with the exception of the few in his clan who support him).

Koronto,

Aweys Al-Baraawe, Aweys Al-Qadiri iyo Shehu Aweyso wa iskomid.

The Qadiriya were far from pushovers. Check out Algeria and Nigeria in particular. They had the full support of many Islamic heavyweights. In 1134 Jilaani was made pricipal of the Hanbalite school in Baghdad, and was influential from Sokoto to Chechnya. They were seen as being well within the mainstream of Sunni practice, unlike other Sufi groups.

Sadly the Wahabi have negatively influenced our young generation.

Somalis have always followed the Shaafici school of thought and sufism comes out of love for our prophet and Dikri is nothing but praying for the prophet.

Allah commands us to pray for the prophet. Ina Laaha wamalaaikatuhu yusuluuna cali nabi yaa'ayahuladiin aaminuu salluu caleehi wasilimuu tasliimaan.

Sufis lead a very simple life and they are very humble towards their fellow Islam.

They are not however submissive since both Sayid Mohamed, Axmed Gurey, Sheikh Aweeis and all other freedom fighters practiced the Shaafici School of thought.

Assalamu a'leykum,

so what is this functioning government, one whose leaders make the anuual pilgrimage to the " white house" and a government which worships the Idol known as "America".

And tell me what is a wahabi ? so what book of Ashiekh muhammed ibn abdul wahab (rahimahuallah) have you read ? Or are you just a jaahil thats repeats what he hears ?.
