Asalama alikom sister, you've got to give yourself more credit than that. Masha'Allah your English and Somali are top notch! ;) If you want to improve, then speak those two languages often and be around those who speak the language fluently. And as someone said before, read more books it'll help you a lot.

what do you mean life story books? do you mean Biographies & Memoirs? you are not going to improve your English by reading Biographies, bloody hell, you need to get yourself a Barnes & Noble and Amazon.com memberships. you should also take a Literature Course at your college.

btw, don't listen to cawar about watching sitcoms, the only sitcoms i would recommend are Frazier and The West Wing but they have been off the air for years.

Dhers thank you. Best advice so far! Somali and English are the only languages I speak. alhamdulilaah I am good @ both...these people don't understand where I am coming from  I just want to expand my vocab.

Cawar war doqon! Dee waxaan ka waday Af Somaliga.

Fah I started from elementary and now I am in college. I have been here long enough to know and speak English but please try to undertand where I am coming from....I want to learn more Somali and English=expand my vocab. Alhamdulilh I have seen Americans oo iga liita :o

Screw, Bios and just plain 'ol chick novels...u know. I guess I'll have to look for books for the brains (books that will make u think and wonder what something means). And of course I have a Barnes&Noble's membership.

Thnx guys

Just READ, not these 'chick' books either because their only vocab is 'throbbing' 'hot'...yadda yadda yadda...read articles in political magazines, and books on more interesting topics.

Read classical English novels ..those written by Jane Austen  You will love them plus they will expand your vocabulary. :D

Regarding your Af-Maxaad Tiri (i find this term funny for some reason lol) go and find a private tutor who will teach for an hour and half a day.
