After I die

Post by manxee »

Long after my death, the world is going to end. Everything that was once existing will be gone as if it was never there to begin with.
Many people don't seem to have a problem with that. My friends and family have told me I really shouldn't be concerned about it since I'll be long dead.
But for some reason, it really horrifies me and I don't know why.
This isn't some new discovery or concern that dawned upon me over night, and I'm sure I'm not the only person out there who has thought about this or feels this way towards this particular subject.

So, what is your take on this situation? Is anyone else here bothered by it besides me? Just a tad?

I am only concerned about my deeds. Eventually, everything that was once existing has to go.

Nearly all of the individual molecules that make up the human body are replaced on the order of every seven years. It is only the organization of these molecules that makes a unique individual, and it is this organization, this formula, that survives. I see death as a cosmic upload of an eternal "spirit", the individual formula. The survival of this "formula" is not dependant on the survival of any particular accumulation of molecules.
