A crazy Sheik
I am implying Dahir Aweys what's wrong with the man he is a trouble maker,It's said back in the days of Maxkamadaha he refused to sit down with the TFG in Baidhabo and when some people like the writer Nuradin tried to mediate the two sides he was arrogant and blantly rejected it and oance again he is refusing he is refusing the UN sbonsered conference in Djabouiti what does he want may be the TFG should sit down people fighting against it inside Somalia rather than those who run away and sitting in Asmara.

Re: A crazy Sheik
Aweys is the most consistent Somali man ever!
No one should even think about sitting with a puppet regime. Ethiopian occupation along with its implanted seeds must be destroyed.
In this, Alshabaab and Aweys are correct and have credibility in the eyes of many Somalis. Only those who entertain themselves with ''talking'' are seen as sell-outs.

BTW, its an honour that you call him ''Crazy Sheikh'' reminds me of ''Mad Mullah''

Re: A crazy Sheik
Who's comparing?
I just saw the similarity of your labelling of Daahir Hassan Aweys as ''crazy sheikh'' and how the enemies of Sayyid Muhahmed Abdulle Hassan would labell him as ''mad mullah''

More parallels exist, for example back in the days we had Somalis calling Sayid Muhamed Abdulle Hassan a ''crazy sheikh'' who brought only trouble etc etc. These Somalis were supporting the expansionist nations, like Italy,Britain or the socalled Abysinian ''nation'' out of silly clannish interest. Aren't we witnessing somehow the same storyline which happens only to play in a different era, with different players and different setting?
If you lived back in the days, you would surely be one of those who were on the wrong side of history and as such were condemned by history as colonial supporters.
Only Time will tell how this era ends, and who will be judged by history as colonial supporters.

Re: A crazy Sheik
What are you talking about this trouble which started 18 years ago is no holes bared one Somalis killed each ather and break international laws and SOMALI DHAQAN which I may say was never broken before even the time of the Seyid so using foreigners is insignificant sooner or later foreigners have to come in the picture and also I would say those who are fighting with the Ethiopians are as guilty as those who invited them if they would stop firing and and necessary killings I am sure Ethiopia would not have any excuse of staying any day longer,so the main need is law and order and all Somalis realising that the time of blood shed have to stop and that We must find some ather way of sorting out our differences,There is no point being ginguistic and blaming all our ills on our neighbour and face the truth that we are our worst enemy.

Let me see if I understand this correctly. So you are basically saying: ''EThiopia came in as a consequence of firing and necessary killings, and will leave again when this stops?''
What an interesting reasoning. So let us just hand over all our weapons to Ethiopia and adopt Ghandi-tactics and see if they will leave.
Ethiopia had always an interest in occupying Somalia, 17+ years of anarchy and decadence created the right factors for Ethiopians to come in. They will not leave if they are not made to leave, and this means:
1) The creation of public agreement on the need to fight the Ethiopians and oust them out of the country
2) The creation of awareness of the factors which led to this shamefull era, just to name some of these factors:
-Anarchism
-Warlordism
-Secessionism
-Clannist-Regionalism
-And lastly but not least: Opportunism. (the calool-ushaqestayaal).
I am sure Aweys is more credible and consistent in achieveing those above mentioned goals then let say A.Yusuf. One look at their two careers starting from 1977 to 2008 testifies of this fact.
Re: A crazy Sheik
gobdoon,
The more crazy and irrational one is , the better and brave he is in many Somalis' twisted minds.
Thus, Coward Awes and his destructive elements, Al Shabaab, are heroes in the eyes of short-sited zombies like Somaliweyn.
Don't try to reason with these crazy folks. All they advocate for is more lives lost in the name of freeedom fighters!
Someguy "the vecious cirlce of Somalis dying in war and in povery just goes on"
