Airport targeted with Somali president inside

MOGADISHU, Somalia (AP) - A spokesman for Somalia's president says Islamic insurgents fired mortars at the airport in Mogadishu as the president was preparing to fly out.

The spokesman says no one was hurt in today's attack.

He says President Abdullahi Yusuf was at the airport but had not yet boarded the plane when the mortars landed. He flew to Ethiopia later in the day.

Yusuf escaped unharmed earlier this month after a similar attack on the airport.

so the insurgents know his movement, every time he flies they fire mortars at the airport to remind him that they run the show
