Re: Work of Ethiopian occupation and Somali murtads
AW,
The closing down of more then 30 mosques is a very serious matter, which is a serious attack on our believes, since we are denied entry to our own places of worship, in our own country by a foreigner who also happens to be a Christian army (forget the couple of Oromo and Somali conscripts, the identity of the country and its army and their rulers are Christian). Can you comprehend the magnitude of this matter?
Murax,
Somali scholars have labbeled the current situation by their correct name: Jihad, and the collaborators of the enemy as enemy who should be fought whether they happen to be muslim or not.
Technicalities are not relevant and even counter-productive at this point. In these times, the decision of our scholars comes first, then logic. Even if there is division within the judgment of the scholars, we should follow the scholars who's viewpoint comes near that of logic.
These days I start to doubt some interpretations which coincidently happen to support the rule of oppressive regimes like in those Arab countries.

Closing down of Mosques is nothing to the the enemy, they even went as far as slitting throats of wadaado in their own mosque. Remember that incident?
---
Ethiopian troops accused of mosque killings
Ethiopian troops were accused yesterday of slitting the throats of seven Somali men during a raid on a Mogadishu mosque that left 21 people dead, including the imam.
The claim by Amnesty International was strongly denied by the Ethiopians.
Amnesty said the "extrajudicial killings" occurred at al-Hidya mosque during a weekend of heavy fighting between Ethiopian troops and Islamist insurgents. The rights group said 41 children arrested in the raid were being detained at an Ethiopian military base in the Somali capital.
Citing eyewitness accounts, Amnesty reported that 11 of the dead, among them Islamic scholars, were killed inside the mosque on Saturday. But Ethiopia's government yesterday denied the war crimes accusations, and said no raid had taken place. "This is a completely fabricated story designed to blackmail the Ethiopian army, one of the most disciplined forces anywhere in the world," a spokesman for Ethiopia's foreign affairs ministry said. "It will damage the reputation of Amnesty International."
He said the story was propaganda circulated by the Shabab, an Islamist-oriented militia that grew out of the Somali Council of Islamic Courts, which held authority over much of south and central Somalia in 2006 before being routed by Ethiopian troops.
An Amnesty spokesman said yesterday that its report on the mosque raid was based on numerous interviews with eyewitnesses, family members of the dead, and people who had seen the bodies, as well as local journalists

If the story is ''propaganda'' why are more then 30 mosques closed down?

AW,
Bay/Bakool, Middle Jubba, Lower Jubba, Gedo......the Resistance is spreading. Hawiye regions just happen to be the most strategically, centrally located places in Somalia. Beledweyne, Mogadishu, Guriceel, Jowhar, Afgoye etc are just strategically located and central.
Also, look at what happened post-1991 to understand the current situation.
Remember, we toppled our oppresive regime on 26 Jan 1991, the Tigres achieved that on May 1991. Now they are at our gates, displacing our people from Mogadishu, Afgoye, Jowhar, Beledweyn, Guriceel etc etc.
The blame lies within ourselves. The sooner we get this the better.
We'll return the favor though

These guys are closing down mosques, so they can turn into their military bases, not 1 not 2 but 30. They go into mosques and slit the throats of wadaads. They detain children who go to the mosques. These guys are fighting Islam, and I can't believe Somali's who call themselves Muslim support these forces.

Somaliweyn,
Its unfortunate but this is an opportunity to break with the small narrow minded short term politics.
But on a greater question, what is the underlying philosophy of the liberation movement ? What is ready for postoccupation ?

Hawyie are their own worst enemy, you could never imagine Isaaq being so fragmented, if their survival depended on it.
You guys need another Caydiidaun, and fast.

AW
The resistance is organized better then we thought.
At the end of the day, we prefer a religious group that we can compromise with on fundamental freedom princples then a foreigner who displaces millions of people, massacres the people, rapes the women, and closes down more then 30 mosques.
Dont you think?
Lets first focus on this enemy who will destroy whatever is left of the people. The religious groups have shown the higher ground, and I am sure at the end of the day we share more with a god-fearing Hawiye leader then a selfish opportunist Hawiye leader who shells his own people, displaces his own people, and collaborates with the closure of more then 30 mosques.
Thats how things are at this time.

GeneralSNM,
I wouldn't say that: Omar Arteh Ghalib & Co were loyal even during the darkest hour. .... Plus Issaq are not as many as Hawiye probably not more than Abgaal.
Somaliweyn,
You can't view these wadaads through the Clan prizm. Their loyalty is to their own qabiil, Gardhere.
Its just unfortunate the wadaad label got pinned on the Hawiye last while the others jumped ship .

GeneralSNM,
Issaq has more brains
Listen, if say Abgaal were to create their own fictional country in Galgaduud and Shabelle Dhexe, it would be just as peaceful as Somaliland.
Shirib,
Never. U should accept this man as your leader:

If your theory is correct, why hasn't it happened?
Could it be the madness and mayhem is to much to give up.
Hawyie have more men then Isaaqs, Have more intelectuals, then how do you explain your current blight?

Shirib,
Because that Sheik has cost me several cousins & his group brought about a lot of the misery facing us today.
That being said, I believe he and Abdi Qeybdiid should both be retired from politics.
GeneralSNM,
If Hargeisa was the capital and Wuuqoyi was just as populated as the south with just as many tribes, there would have been bitter fighting like in the South.
Not to mention, Issaq were the first to pursue good relationships with Ethiopia. You got closer to Ethiopia without a shot being fired and have not resisted to date.
