Somali man shot dead outside a bar

Post by MJ-Pride »

A 28 year old Minneapolis man was shot dead Thursday outside Karma night club in Warehouse Districts. Minneapolis Police were called minutes after the shooting and immediately sealed the scene

Police have identified the man as Mohamed Issa from Brooklyn Park

About 1:30 a.m. Thursday, , Police saw the man shot multiple times in front of busy Downtown Minneapolis bar. Paramedics tried to revive him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Though police have yet to establish a motive, or to make an arrest, indications were that the shooting was not random, police spokesman Peter Panos said.

Police have identified multiple persons of interest, he added.

On Thursday, at the site of the shooting, there were two bouquets of roses, a yellow candle, a red bandanna and a cardboard sign that said: "THIS NEEDS TO STOP."

He'd go out to help

According to court records, Mohamed Issa was convicted twice in the past two years of driving while impaired, and pleaded guilty in 2002 to an alleged gang-related shooting about 10 blocks from where he was killed. A victim of that earlier shooting said the shots had come from a car carrying members of the Hilltop Hustlers street gang.
