So my network connections folder just won't pull up and I can't even click on it. It has no icons and whenever i DO try to click on it, nothing happens

i already tried system restore and it won't restore the computer :down:

Try to open the folder this way:

Nah the folder has no icon, its completely gone.

I have an old Windows XP disk but it won't restore it back either.

this will re-establish your internet/network connections


1 - go to run
2 - type cmd and then enter
3 - type ipconfig/reset
4 - type ipconfig/renew

FAH1223, try this: take out the cat 5, and restart the pc. Then, replug.

nah i got internet, its just that i want the network connections folder to come back so that i can use windows xp configuration for my wireless instead of linksys

look at my screen shot and notice where i circled and how it has no icon and when i click it won't start any operations

not sure bro. Your internet is running, but your network connections are down? try some of the online trouble shooting website (windows xp website, etc)

the wireless internet shortcut on my desktop still has an icon, but i can't use it to configure my wireless connection because my network places is completely gone

So create one on ur desktop dude.

-Right-click on ur desktop
-Properties
-Desktop
-Customize Desktop (at the bottom)
-Check mark My Network Places
-ok then ok

yeah but Gat the thing is, when i go to control panel > network & internet connections

i click network connections but it won't open the wizard and the icon is gone

its like its been wiped off the computer, i dont even have viruses or spyware it just poof went away

I've seen ur control panel sxb, Something seems be corrupted but were u able to put one on ur desktop and do u have a recovery cd?
