First of all, the raxanwein are farmers and do not own livestock, especially camels. The only people from that region who own camels are those in Gedo and Bakool and not Bay. this is very comical to me.. i can imagine a somali saying "wallahi we dont torture anyone, i swear we didnt even torture one soul, torture is not part of our culture wallahi etc, etc...

What Somalis know as torture and what happened in the civil war, was totally different. Somalis know torture as someone shackled, blindfolded, wired and undergoing shock treatment while someone else is puling their nails one after the other, and another one applying some basbaas where the nail is pulled out.................all this time, he is being asked questions related to the motive of his arrest.

However, the torture that took place in the civil war was something new to the community, even the ones who were dishing it out did not consider it as torture. Some called it revenge, others, an opportunity presented itself to do whatever ylou deem idling in leisure
