"Canada remained the largest exporter of total petroleum in June, exporting 2.359 million barrels per day to the United States, which is an increase from last month (2.346 thousand barrels per day). The second largest exporter of total petroleum was Saudi Arabia with 1.493 million barrels per day"

if you ever to go oil rich nations like Saudi Arabia or Kuwait, oil is dirt cheap..but here in Canada we're paying what's equivalent to roughly around $5.20/G. WTF is going on around here. the US government conveniently convinced its herds-stock of citizens that they are "addicted" to Middle East oil when in fact yankees have been sukking canadain oil dry to the tune of 2.3 billion barrels/day. again WTF??
and then they tell us, the price is so high because of record high crude futures trading above the $100/barrel mark. now that price of oil has been declining with crude trading at the mid 90's(about $96/barrel) i see no reflection of it at the pump as we Torontonians are coughin' up $1.38/liters(equivalent to over $5/gallon....again.. WTF is going on around here.
hurricane Ike my azz. the areas where Ike hit the most have jumped prices to the tune of 5 cents when we were hit with a 13 cent price hike...and forget hurricanes..i don't see no hurricane..hell i can't even feel a drip on the strip.
again....WTF is going on in the Great White North??? there seems to be a Great White Heist of the North.
i blame Harper for this. fockin' conservatives this is what happens when they're in charge.
Canada, NOT Saudi Arabia supplies more oil to the US

I filled up for 3.60 up from 3.41/gallon. But I also used a 5% cashback credit card so that saved me $0.18/gallon.
Focking crooks !
Re: Canada, NOT Saudi Arabia supplies more oil to the US
Lol. Harper or even Bush have little to do with the oil market and its prices.
When the demand increases and the supplies are somewhat short(the producing countries dont want to increase their daily input) or when a harricane disrupts the folow of oil from the refineries..then its normal that the market increases its prices to adjust..therefore..the gas stations follow suit.
In anycase, American ppl are dumb..they wouldnt know if oil hit them in the face..thats why they are told that Saudi Arabia is their only supplier..while Bush makes deals with them and even begs them to increase its production.
They also get it from Venezuela..but it sounds good to tell the americans.who are basically under siege..for the war on terror bs..whatever they want.

abdi,
please don't rub it in..
cawar,
politicians, though unable to directly effect the markets...can very much sway its direction with the policies they put in place.
Harper is a nacas foqol nacas who panders to dirty US draconian policy makers. Canada would be better off if only its leaders had the back bone to slap as much tariffs on exported oil the way the US did on Canadian soft wood lumber which they even refused to refund back to Canada after a NAFTA ruling ordering them to do.
I say Canada should do biz with the Chinese who are readily available to fill the void of US oil conception at a far better capital and access to a much formidable consumer market.

abdi,
i can still get a hybrid, but i'm more interested in solving the problem than coping with the problem at the moment.
