Dawa I am sorry bro but I don't think, based just on your naivette, that you are capable of enrolling in a university, let alone an American university. Like I said before many people here know me including Shirib, Somalian_Boqor, etc. What I do, what I study, etc are not up for speculation.

However, you are unknown. :)

Engineers have the highest IQ's in the world, I beat you in every academic aspect possible.

And about US universities, this coming december (next semester) I am heading to Berkley in Cali as an exchange student.

Voltage is rather correct. People who had a good living in Somalia would not have left for Dubai, which at that time was undeveloped and their only resource for profit would be labor dependency.

People leave Switzerland for places like China, today.

Your argument is baseless.

Actually your argument is baseless, since in fact CHINA is a world power and has vast resources, look at your shoes, I bet it says "Made in China". I love when people try to outsmart people, but come out with foam around their mouth.

First off all please do your homework, the UAE was much richer than Somalia even during the 60s.

Deira, central Dubai is more than 30-40 years old and it looked much better than the Mogadishu of the 60s.

Volatage,

although there is a sort of bubble going on in the UAE economy due to allot of liquidity
basically they have too much cash and need to put it somewhere,i believe that the crash would not be that severe.
Most people expect a correction in the property market, nothing the the 70% drop singapore had in the early 90's.

Another incorrect assumption is that you assume that the money for all of dubais growth and
massive projects is Dubai's money.
The maktoum family are skilled businessmen, decended from cutthroat pirates, you should never under estimate them.
They are responsible for the vision of dubai for directing its growth.
Did you know that most of these projects are only seeded with about 10% of government funds
and the rest of the 90% is from investors.

the put in the seed money, the develope the concept, and then sell it for profit.

On the contrary they are not throwing away thier money, but shrewdly investing it profitably.

another correction somalis who came in the 70's and 80's were not really labourers,
some where labourers, but the majority got low level clerical jobs, the municipalities and
hospitals and other government offices where full of somali, sudani and other arab clerks.
The reason for the mass emmigration of somalis outof the UAE begining in 1991 was due to local emaraties
getting the literacy to take over those low level clerical jobs, about 10-20% of the somalis
where professionals e,g engineers, Doctors, Administrators.
