A remarkable picture.

T-L,

Alshabab did their part. They were highly effective, and deployed unorthodox tactics which inflicted heavy damage on the Ethiopian side. But they were just 1 faction, who was small but trained and discplined. Most of fighting was done by ICU and ordinary men of Mogadishu. young Mogadishu men filled the ranks of the resistance movement en masse. No wonder why all the resistance factions were dominanted by these young men, since they saw the cruelty of Ethiopian occupation.

But you are right about those who want to tell a lie of alshabaab been the only one waging war against the ethiopians. They have a hidden agenda and their misinformation will be busted.

So with all fairness, lets give everyone who fought against the Ethiopian occupation their credit.

Mogadishu society has one again proven that no foreign power will be its master. Despite the displacement of 800.000 people, the massacre of 16.000 people, and wholesale destruction of districts and businesses, Mogadishu society has never lost its mental strenght and will to continue fighting till the enemy is defeated. Anno 2009, the Ethiopians are retreating in shame, the two main puppets Geedi and A.Yusuf both humiliated and dismissed, the puppet institution is shaking.

SW,

True say.

But by and large their efforts have been futile and consequently brought a greater degree of pain and suffering to the people of Mogadishu. Just today, hundreds of young men have deserted the Al Shabab in Xamar and joined their cousins in the ARS led by Sh. Indo Cade. This is a very welcome sign. The destruction of these lunatic maniacs have begun.

Hats off to the people of Mogadishu. They indeed are creme de la creme and a symbol of bravery and steadfastness in the face of aggression. The Somali people have books of wisdom to learn from this very fine group.

T-L,

They have been succesfull in the beginning since they did not involve the civilians in their war efforts. I remember their 2 highly effective suice operations in which they killed more then 70 ethiopians by only losing the lives of 2 mujahideen.

It is only lately that they have been wrecking havoc and uncalculated chaos. And it is natural for young men of Mogadishu to walk away on Alshabab and join the pragmatic people who have fought the ethiopians the last 2 years and now are ready to look at rehabilitating Mogadishu society.

For example, 800.000 people are outside the city, 16.000 have died, whole districts are destroyed, Mogadishu economy is wrecked. That needs rehabilitation, and someone needs to solve these problems tactfully.

And Mogadishu people are aware of the tremendous challenges facing them. Defeating the Ethiopian occupation was just one thing which had priority, now that they are gone we need to restore things and solve our internal problems before those Ethiopians come back again. Remember they were able to occupy our capital city and country because of internal weakness and decay. We need to adress the root cause, and never give the Ethiopians any other opportunity to inflict pain on us.

Wise words.

Al Shabab went rogue after the martyrdom of Xashi Aden Ayro.
