Lol@ Abdi.... I have no plans to visit Xamar in the immediate future. I guess it all depends how this year goes, if Shiekha delivers, than I will be the first one to visit.
About Abdiweli, I can't say am overly shocked that he heads in that direction.

Cawar,
I will be chilling my house in Xamar with my future wife, Inanta Qeybdiid, making my side deals and investing in the family conglomerate.
Demure,
I am joking about Abdiweli
I met his Adeer when I was in nairobi but didn't see his father. I enjoy talking with his old man. A very stand up guy
And a joker

You make a valid point...but by the same token, who better to get involved in the reorganization of the South than an individual who's own region is stable and has verifiable success in adminstering a regional government...which will come in handy for a national government.Murax wrote:Captain,Captain24 wrote:Saxiib, Hawiye are full of tricks, so we have to keep an eye on even their most sincere wadaad(Sh.Faruuq). The Prime minster of course will have his political advisors and that will come from Punland. He won't be a yes man and that's what matters.
I have nothing against Majerteen as a clan. There a great business clan, have their house in order etc. The problem I have with them taking leadership is that the place that needs real leadership is the South. The worry I have is that a Puntlander will pretty much view a PM or President portfolio like He's playing with House money, and has nothing to lose since He already Has a Puntland. Whereas someone from the House will have a real incentive to try to bring about some sort of change. In addition to that, Puntland doesn't have any powerbase in the South so How can they make a real difference there? Wallahi these concerns arn't out of spite for Majerteen, but its a geography issue. I don't see Why a Puntlander would really care what happens in the South as long as they have Puntland, and they wouldn't take their job very seriously.

Good point.
Only question is will His goal be
Koonfur hormar or keeping an eye out for Puntland interest and furthuring His political career? Thats the burning question.

Remember theres not a lot of daacad people in Zoomalia. Hopefully He'll resist the urge of 'Screw it, none of the people in the South is My tol anyway' When the going gets tough. Inshallah khayr bee noqon no matter what. As long as the person is daacad it doesn't matter Where He's from

Re: Puntland: We don't want Galaydh or Maslax, We want a Mj PM
Murax....true, and the even more pressing issue is: if a daacad Majeerteen PM is appointed with no previous involvement in civil war-era politics, will reer Konfuur still assess him through skeptical lenses anyway and always look for potential ulterior motives in his decisions, since he hails from Majeerteen? A perceived bias is the same as actual bias in the mind of the one who misconstrues it.
That's why I personally think a Majeerteen PM won't be good for hormar in the South. Abdullahi Yusuf left a bad taste in people's mouth down South and, in this climate of tribal politics, one of his kinsmen being appointed to govern them won't sit well with Southerners. MJ's should also sit this one out due to the conflict of interest you mentioned, and the position should be given to Mareexaan since, based on the 4.5 formula, the PM will go to Daarood and Mareexaan are populous there without their own official regional administration...Ogaadeen are also numerous but have more important issues to deal with in their own region. An Ogaadeen PM, which I know isn't a viable possibility right now, would hinder the morale of/send the wrong signal to residents of Ogaadeenia, who'll think he's abandoned their struggle by joining mainland Somalia's politics and conceded kilinka shanaad to Ethiopia indefinitely.
At the same time, we're not ready as a nation to be unified under the current political climate, so the administration in Xamar should not be considered a national government, but a more temporary regional-recovery initiative, since the South is in dire need of any kind of law & order, infrastructure and social services. Puntland and Somaliland should stick with what's working for them and operate independent of and without taking orders from the TFG for the time being, and completely be removed from the Southern political spectrum until the situation there is hospitable to reunification. If Shariif can stabilize the South, which is a difficult task in and of itself, he should then enter comprehensive discussions with Puntland and Somaliland to recreate a national government of unity for all Somalis. First you crawl, and then you walk...in Southern Somalia, we're still lying down right now.
Of course, the wildcard there is the various "Islamic" factions and how they play into the peace process.
