Miss Ogadenia 2009 Revealed....

The first ever Miss Ogadenia Compition was held last night...850 guests attended..a total of $45,000 was collected.. overall it was fun night..



I will summarise for those of you that were not present.

The Contestants:
Must be at least 18 and under 25 years of age
Must contribute to the struggle for self determination
Must be of Ogaden descent

All contestants were judged according to 4 criteria:

1) Demonstrate Knowledge and History of Ogaden
2)Contestants had to perform ONE traditional Somali Ciyaar of they choice (Buraanbur, Dhaanto,Niiko etc)

3)Hidiyo Dhaqan/Dirac wear ( Extra points for Posture, grace, elegance and composure )
4) question And answer portion ( question was: Propose Solution to the Ogaden problem ,each contestant had 3 min to impress the audience and the judges)

Runner up went to:
Miss Jigjiga

SOOMAALI GALBEED which more than 100 qabiils live. Ogaadeen is only one tribe among all those.
