Shirib, I'm sure anyone who signed that agreement would be shocked by allegations that he gave away Somali territory and I don't believe for one second that this government would do that. Reading that document just proved that they didn't.

Btw, I like Somalitalk....I remember reading an interesting article about suspicious looking oil rig in Somali waters which they said was oil drilling taking place in Somali waters....I think it was around the same area which is being mentioned here. I think I would have believed it if that connection was made and you never posted that agreement. Now, I know it was all a load of hoo ha.

The agreement is a joint, but undivided, claim on the continental shelf beyond the 200 mile limit. The document acknowledges that the area described by Kenya south of Ras Kamboni within the 200 mile limit is in dispute and that Somalia will make it's own claim to the area at an "appropriate time", presumeably when she has a stable government.

This document gives nothing away, and , in fact, claims additional Somali territiry.

this is not annexation, it is a new extension to nation states territorial waters and these negotiations will at least take 10 years. they are extending the continental shelf.
