I have passed through Barava when I was a little kid, when we escaped from Xamar we lived in beuatifull area around Janale in some farm, however when the war intensified we had to head further south towards Kismaayo, it was during this period I gott to see Brava.

For safety reason we had to travel in a convey of 10 - 12 cars (all family and friends), I remember we stayed in the main road place called mudul braawe (resting) and my older brother and some other guys drove down to Braawe to get us some food and stuff. I remember afer sometime he came back excited he was like "hooyo, come see this place, it's like another country", indeed it was like another country, the people, the food, the language and even the archtecture was different.

We had trouble people talking to us, they were scarred because we had guns, I must say some of the guns we carried were realy big and scary indeed. I vaguely remember the old people among our group talking to some braawe elders explaining we were just normal people like them oo qaxaayo, we just needed some food etc.

I had the adevnture of my life during qixii walaahi, I was too naive to realise this will be it for me in Somalia (no more retun to Xamar), I just remember enjoying the thrill of doing stuff I never though I will doing......
and you guys end up in dagahbour or you went some other places?

let us talk about salafi/wahabi saudi mufti-ibn baz-which wahabis follow him like a saint and he is the same the man who gave americans to invade a muslim country iraq.

Looyaan is fighting for alshabab, through hus main onlf that are an ogaden movement and secular he uses tired crap porpganda. reason why onlf are cursed. uses fake wadaads.

if ibn baz was alive he will have commissioned ogadenia by saudi authorities. wahabism to poor muslims means war.

is hyper's great granfather's like ibn bazz? no. his great great granddad was no under political pressure. he was a pure. free and simple muslim sufi scholar.

Both my mom and dad had Dhagehbur as the place of birth in their Somali passports, so when we got to Kenya and stayed there for a while mum hated it and said kids we are heading to the real home. The Ethiopian Embassy facilitated our trip back to Dhegahbur, they were like welcome home and even offered dad a work which he declined (I was like dad you told us these guys were bad - look they ain't that bad!).

We took a plane to Addis Ababa then a long trip home to Dhagehbur where I stayed even since and still consider my official residence though I am working in London.

Me and tigre don't see eye to eye, I hate them with vengeance. However, these days they used to pretend to be nice and were trying to win the support of the people and the official war between us and them has only started in 1994 (the lates round of course).

They were so nice the one of the family guys from Mogadishu ended up being a full minister in the Ethiopian regime.

PS: do you know your grandfather also used to live in Dhegahbur?

hyper thinks his great grandfather sheikh ali suufi is a bid3a sheikh. sheikh suufi is a somali hero like most religious sufi religious humans. he likes kollombo-let him smoke salafi weed with him.

I remember mundul baraawe, yaaq bari, janaale, shalaambood, etc. Beautiful places. And the bit about the culture & the people being different, I agree. Coastal towns in the south were more civilized, more peaceful regions because of centuries of trade & interaction with the outside world. While the nomads were out in the desert, these people were archiving ancient recipes and building mansions that could withstand violent winds from the Indian ocean. One of the most unfortunate things to happen in Somalia was the injustices done against coastal folk like cad-cads, barawaanis, bajunis, tuni, jiido, mushunguli, etc. You won't even recognize Baraawe or Marka if you went back today, because most of its true inhabitants have fled, taking with them the culture and civilization that took centuries to make.
