GAROWE, Somalia May 26 (Garowe Online) - A Cabinet minister in Somalia's Puntland region told a Monday press conference in the regional capital Garowe that 100 student scholarships the Yemeni government donated to Somalia was managed unfairly, Radio Garowe reports.
Mr. Abdi Farah "Juha," the Puntland Minister of Education, told reporters at the Ministry building in Garowe that the Transitional Federal Government (TFG) in Mogadishu did not divide the college scholarships equally among all students in Somalia.
"The TFG Minister for Higher Education should be fair to all Somali student seeking an education," Minister Juha said.
He noted that the international community recognizes that today's Somalia consists of three distinct parts: Somaliland, Puntland and the south-central regions.
Attempts to reach the TFG Higher Education Minister in Mogadishu, Prof. Ibrahim Addow, ended in failure.
