Ok former prime minister geedi has spoken out regarding the situation of somalia. He says that the current government should bring extra international forces to boost the fragile tfg before the islamist defeat them. I won't focus on that part of his speech, but i will focus on primarily his position regarding Puntland State of Somalia.

As you can all see geedi has praised Puntland as the most peaceful part of somalia and they should remain peaceful and defend their region if anyone threatens that peaceful region because it is puntland who is now helping and saving the fleeing idps running from hamar into puntland recieving amnesty, care, health, etc..

Excellent news geedi and i respect your honesty, lets hope other somalis learn from this. And in my next thread i will posting the apology that nuur cade has sent to abdullahi yusuf for resigning and that he truly wish he never did if he knew somalia would turn out like this with the liar sharif. Because sharif promised unity but he hasn't brought unity, he is doing exactly what abdullahi was doing fighting the al shabab. So it was pointless for abdullahi to leave if the government would remain on that policy of fighting the islamist becuz abdullahi was doing exactly the same thing.

Anyways i will post that in another issue to discuss that apology sent by current ambassador of somalia in italy nuur cade.

Jama, if you were the president what wud you do? the islamist were bringing eritrean arms into it, not only that were recieving arab funds from the gulf. And on top of that they had foreign troops among their soldiers. Marka tell me what the hell do you want the president to do in that sort of situation, let shabab bring in foreign support but abdullahi just sits there and watch them destroy the tfg...you really need to put yourself in ppl shoes for one minute and see from real perspective.

Secondly Abdullahi Yusuf has left now, and i have already posted the nur cade apology in this section so u can read it yourself. But what u should concern yourself with is sharif who is considering bringing kenyan, ugadan, ethiopians, and even yemenis...infact kenya soldiers are on high alert for an invasion..as u can watch here...

Sharif sold our sea to kenya also, so don't be suprised if u see kenyans stealing our local seafood in the near future...and on top of that the united nations has said the worst humanitarian crisis is occuring under sharif and he is doing alot more violence then abdullahi yusuf ever did.

So u really need to worry about sharif because he has bigger plans and deadlier plans for hamar then Abdullahi abti..

Abti the shariif is fighting a enemy bigger know then before called alshabaab and at that time there was not 3000 alshabaan so if my abti had the balls he would have taken care of them without bringing ethiopia in somalia.
him and geedi are fucked up.
keyna can't just get our sea without all somalis signing the deal so i don't think it will work.
our leaders should be working on stopping alshabaab not signing deals, so shame on them.

Somalia: Ex-PM Gedi condemns insurgents, praises Puntland
4 Jul 4, 2009 - 12:46:57 PM

NAIROBI, Kenya July 4 (Garowe Online) - The former Prime Minister of Somalia's Transitional Federal Government (TFG) has accused local insurgents of fighting alongside 'foreign fighters' while criticizing the government for weakness, Radio Garowe reports.

Prof. Ali Mohamed Gedi, a former Prime Minister who is a Member of the Somali Parliament, gave a long interview Saturday to Puntland-based Radio Garowe.

He appealed to the international community to provide military and financial support to the Somali government to fight against what he called "jihad seekers."

"Foreign fighters who are jihad seekers are pouring into Somalia," MP Gedi said, warning: "If they succeed [in overthrowing the government], then Somalia and the greater Horn of Africa region is in danger."

'Lost opportunity'

Prof. Ali Mohamed Gedi, ex-Somali PM
The former Prime Minister said the current TFG – which was established in Jan. 2009 and led by President Sheikh Sharif Ahmed – "lost an opportunity following the hope of the Djibouti Agreement."

He noted that the government was "wrong" for entering into an agreement with "a faction that could not deliver on promises."

As an example, MP Gedi pointed out that pro-government Islamic Courts Union (ICU) commanders in the central Hiran region had now joined the opposition faction, Hizbul Islam. READ: Military tensions high in Hiran region near Ethiopia border

"These [opposition] groups use Islamic law as an excuse to wage war, but I always knew they would quit [the government]," MP Gedi added.

He said the government lost an opportunity to defend itself because the government inherited weapons and soldiers from the previous administration of President Abdullahi Yusuf, adding: "I don't know what happened to those weapons and soldiers."

Praise for Puntland

MP Gedi, who was then-President Yusuf's Prime Minister, said the Somali interim government (TFG) controlled most regions during his three years in office.

He noted that, as Prime Minister, the government had established regional administrations in some regions, adding that the insurgents did not have the power they have today to fight the interim government.

Lastly, ex-Prime Minister Gedi praised the people and government of Puntland, a self-governing stable region in northeastern Somalia.

"Protect the peace you have and protect your government," MP Gedi advised the people of Puntland, adding that peace in the Puntland regions has provided a safe haven for Somali civilians fleeing conflict in the south-central regions.

Gedi, who hails from President Sheikh Sharif's Abgal clan, now lives in Kenya. He survived three attempts on his life as Prime Minister.
