Bal dad qamaadi isku laayay, baa islaanimo ka hadlaayo. That sort of imaan la'aan is only exhibited by lower grade people.

What Marehan looted anywhere when the people who should have looted the most, reer Siyaad Barre, were least corrupt and most astute presidential family Africa had ever seen? Not even a shack in Somalia let alone anywhere else bay lacag Soomaaliyeed ku dhinteen.Captain24 wrote:Somalistan, most of that from the Rahanweyn clan who reside part of Bardheere. voltage,
Where have you moved on into? your region is still the poorest region in Somalia. Extreme poverty, malnutrion still rules in Gheto.. It's basically in the same status as when that article was written. The only difference is instead of Aided, Raxanweyn Alshabab dude is ruling your arse. You're just delusional.
Murax,
bacdii bariiska ayaa kaffan looga dhigay. Walahi that is tragic.

Murax,
Baardheere had run out of shrouds for the dead, and survivors were using empty sacks of donated rice to wrap bodies.

Even in the middle of the worst parts of civil war, Marehan business people were making more money in Gedo than Somaliland. Ku laha poorest, how poor do you have to be when you have been a "government" for 19 years and your only achievement is begging some aid group to fund your election and feed your starving people to the point where Garjaxis fought over U.N donated qamadi. Which Somali people have seen that level of desperation?Somalistan wrote:voltage,

Where are these phantom marexaan businessmen? The only famous marexaan has been dead 19 years, and you guy's haven't advanced in anyway. You've been unable to achieve anything worthy other then make the papers because some young jihadist have put your whole qabil on lock down, after giving your failed warlord type leader a bloody nose. Sxb, what you'll need to do is accept the truth, which is in 2009 you guy's are nothing, nada, not worth spit. The only place a marexaan can feel normal is on snet, outside in the real world they are the somali untouchables. Bal I want to know why these guy's cant get civilized and administer their regions like normal humans. What the fock are they cattle just roaming around the empty land, robbing minorities and as soon a group tough enough comes along become passive servants on best behavior.
Let me ask you something I'll send the group over seeing the election to Gedo, but first who run's the place the animals that eat and live their or the marexaan who eat and live their. I'm struggling to see which of the two groups is actually running the place.

Here comes the London street urchin Young Duufle.
Talking to Habar Jeclo about Somaliland affairs is like talking to an Oromo about Ethiopian leadership. Bring me the people who make sure you don't ever become anything in your own land.
Don't blame me sxb, blame yourself. The problem with Marehan has always been investment flight due to the intense wars we have been in and the proximity of Nairobi and the prime Somali investment spots in East Africa. According to Ken Menkhaus, who is the guy the United States congress goes to for any information about Somalia and wrote Somalia's UNDP Development Index:
New York Times 1996
Marehan liberated Somalia from USC domination. Then we liberated Somalia from Ethiopian influence for almost a decade while at the same time we controlled from Kismaayo to Luuq, and area that is three times the size of Somaliland and 10X more weight in economic potential and natural resources. What are you but sitting on your ass with nothing to do and fighting over Qamadi 19 years after you declared government and had peace?

According to Ken Menkhaus, who is the guy the United States congress goes to for any information about Somalia and wrote Somalia's UNDP Development Index:
Our problem has never been money. Our problem has been stability. Our problem has been investment outflow because of the instability. Maybe Ethiopian attacks is new to Somalis in 2006, but we had been seeing it for a decadeSome of the trade with neighbouring Ethiopia and Kenya takes the form of recorded trade via official crossing-points at Belet Hawa and El Waq on the border with Kenya and at Dolo on the border with Ethiopia. Considerable unofficial trade is also engaged in across the borders with both Kenya and Ethiopia. Extensive small trading goes on in all towns and villages as well.
Kenneth Menkhaus, Assistant Professor at Davidson College/UNDOS consultant, considered the Gedo region's economy to be in reasonably good shape and described trade in the region as "booming". Traders in Gedo made more profit than, for instance, those in Hargeisa, in north-western Somalia (Somaliland). He pointed out that the Gedo region was a centre for brisk trading between Somalia and Kenya or Ethiopia. Large quantities of goods were brought from Mogadishu to Bardera by lorry. Bardera, being the largest town in the Gedo region, formed the centre of that trade, with active flows of funds both from abroad and to and from Mogadishu...
...While in Luuq, the delegation visited a transhipment centre for imported goods from Mogadishu. The centre contained a number of trucks from Mogadishu, from which goods were transferred to what were referred to as "Marehan trucks". These then took goods on to destinations in Gedo. Luuq District Council reported that it had begun taxing trade in the area. Goods from Mogadishu and livestock transactions were taxed, with the tax revenue being used for purposes including police pay.

UN Report as late as 2002Ethiopian Army Attacks 3 Towns in Border Region of Somalia
By JAMES C. McKINLEY Jr.
Published: Saturday, August 10, 1996
Ethiopian troops, tanks and helicopter gunships have crossed the border into western Somalia and attacked three towns, killing scores of people, a Somali Muslim fundamentalist faction charged today. Workers for a Kenya-based Western relief organization confirmed the attack.
High-ranking officials of a Somali group called the Union of Islam said two battalions of Ethiopian troops with tanks and helicopter gunships had seized the Gedo region of southwestern Somalia in fighting on Thursday night and this morning.
The group said that the troops, tanks and helicopter gunships had swept through the towns of Dolo, Beled-Hawo and Lugh, and that the fighting was continuing.

If we had the length of peace you people had, the last thing we would have been doing is fighting over Qamadi like you do.Briefing correspondents on the latest developments in Somalia, he said that in the last few weeks Ethiopian troops had continued to invade two major regions in south-western Somalia: Gedo and Bakool, capturing the capital of the Gedo region, Garbahaarrey, and a vibrant commercial centre near the Kenyan border -- Bulla Hawa. Formal written communications had been sent from the Foreign Minister of Somalia to the Secretary-General, the Security Council and its Sanctions Committee, expressing concern over the deteriorating situation in the country.
The invasion has caused many innocent civilian deaths and displacement of thousands of people, he continued. As a result of the fighting, Bulla Hawa had been burning yesterday. In Garbahaarrey, the Ethiopian troops had captured the leadership of the region, whose fate remained unknown. Ethiopian troops were also poised to attack the southern port city of Kismaayo.

Number 1, this report was from 1998Voltage wrote:Traders in Gedo made more profit than, for instance, those in Hargeisa, in north-western Somalia (Somaliland).
Number 2, You're comparing the profits traders made in an entire gobol to those traders made in a single city.
Number 3, Profits were made by traders in Hargeisa after they paid their taxes to the local administration. Gedo had no administration whatsoever and thus taxes were most likely not paid to a soul. Hargeisa's tax rate was at its highest at that time in order for the government to rebuild the region as soon as possible fater having seen conflict for a decade.
Number 3, Gedo is not Marexaan!
Today, i form the largest opposition group in my region and pose as the biggest threat to the current ruling party. I have overcome hurdles posed by many different members of my extended clan family and have outsmarted them all. In addition, i have the ruling party shaking in their boots as we speak and the ball is in my corner.Voltage wrote:Talking to Habar Jeclo about Somaliland affairs is like talking to an Oromo about Ethiopian leadership. Today, you form a threat to nobody, not to the Awlihan, not to the Rahanweyns and not to the Asharaf. Today you are considered ceebta daroodka and are completely irrelevant.
It really amazes me how those who can't wipe their own arse laugh at others claiming their shit stinks.

Oldenglish today as a clan I am not a threat to any clan or people and I am happy and have been very happy with that. My commentary in Gedo Section is proof. It is what I wish for all of Somalia.

I just wish the same can happen in the north where some groups are threat to Habar Jeclo and act with impunity.
