Ever been Invited to Christianity At Work by a Co-worker?
I was. This guy wouldn't let it go untill he prayed for me as I sat by. I told him if he was gonna pray for me to be converted, he should do that by praying to the God he calls the Father which is the one I worship. Now I find out another coworker has parents who are pastors. Yesterday all the University staff were invited to pick up small gifts, t-shirts, food, pamphlets and etc, as we walked to the center together, they kept talking about the Good lord. Ever found yourself in a similar situation? ANd how did you handle it?

No not at work, but on the street two young black women came to me talking about religion about love,i told them iam muslim so back off.
Re: Ever been Invited to Christianity At Work by a Co-worker?
I wouldn't tell them to backoff because I am a muslim. That can make you look mean spirited. The funniest part in my situation was when the guy tried to explain why I needed salvation through Jesus. I almost busrt into laughter and bit my lower lip, raised my arm to my chin and pretended I was attending to an itchy cheek
i told him how salvation can be attained by directly praying to God without seeking intercessor, he said I wasn't cqualified to do it on my own. I shot back and told him the bible teaches no son will be punished for the sins of his father and Jesus himself said he goes to the father for the father was greater than I. The guy replied "I don't care about what the bible says". I almost burst into laughter again. What a nutcase. I thought I found the prefect job but these guys gave me something to worry about. Our relationship will definitely be affected as I won't be covnerted.

Time to get a new job? They will not leave you alone, my friend. They will go on and on and on like an everyday Shabab supporter.

Re: Ever been Invited to Christianity At Work by a Co-worker?
^ The job market is tough in the US. My friends are still looking for work, so I am one of the lucky few who landed a job in a tough economy market. The good thing about this job is I can take classes from the U at steep discount rates since I work for it. Any strategy to keep these latter day saints happy? I promised to one of them Islamic articles on Jesus so he could familiarize himself with the teachings before he proselytizes to Muslims. I am looking for some good material if you have any, a source that is not demeaning yet informative. Help me with that saxib

Explain to them what Islam says about Jesus and Mary..and the fact that you believe in him..etc etc ..
Try to reverse the situation and go for the kill(i.e converting them into Islam)..I bet ..they will leave you alone.

Kinetic,
Nope. I have never been asked before. I would ask for proof of his claims. Evidence to back it up.
What sect does this guy belong to ? If he is Mormon, tell him that nonwhites were not welcome into the Clergy until the late 1970s and as such you can't join a racist religion

Thanks for the tips gentlemen and ladies. Let me get past the probation period(six months), then I will turn the tables on them. We already debated about the Original sin, Jesus's deity and few other subjects. I am supposed to provide some material for reading, so I will find an opportune time to deliver that. Ahmed Deedat is a good start. I was thinking about the Quran translation, which can be heavy for some superstitious being like the one I talked to. This guy is borderline insane, kulaahaa after twenty years of studying the bible, I now found transformation and am united with God. I tried not to burst into a laughter when he said that. It is easy to defeat their argument but I am trying to be more considerate and sensitive and to do the right thing in the right way.

Abdow, I asked him what sect he belonged to, and he said he doesn't belong to any sect. The guy is a renegade and farmore extreme than other christians I have met. He needs careful handling.

Kinetic,
It was your fault engaging in religious discussions. Folks at work can't figure out my religious affiliation: some speculate I am a 7th day Adventist, Muslim, Southern Baptist, (all due to not eating pork nor drinking).
I avoid religious discussions and politics like the plague.

Personally, I try the reverse psychology in trying to "recruit" them. They qwuickly bac off. Besides, is this type of "recruiting" and praying for you even permissable in a work environment? What state/city/province are you in, anyway?

There reason they cant figure your religion becuase u have none. Atheists dont have religion. IF u r a muslim, there should not be a question that u r. Even in a political correct setting like the work place.
