How can he preach against some actions when he has participated in those actions himself, and has a power point proof of it. Becoming of them of them on facebook defeats the purpose walaal, and I don't think not just Sheikhs but anyone else would do such a thing.

I don't know about Sumali sheikhs, but I'm pretty sure SOmali sheikhs having NOTHING in common with Catholic priests.

This is probably 1 of the craziest things I've ever heard a "Sheilkh" do. It certainly goes against the manners of preaching. From what I remember, there's a verse that says "Laa tashtakudu..." i.e. "And do not spy on each other..." So, if he knew anything about the religion, he would not set out to spy on unsuspecting girls and expose their ceeb. Because the religion warns against exposing the sins of a Muslim and secretly spying on them. There was a well-known munaafiq who lived during the Prophet's time (saw) and the sahaba said he should be exposed, in which the Prophet (saw) refused. The Prophet (saw) even refused to spy on this man and discouraged people from going to his home.

This "Sheikh" has probably done more damage than any good and has only allienated many people with his actions. These girls will not stop their activities online, they will only conceal it further and may even do more damage to themselves. He was better off discussing it with them privately or maybe informing their mothers. This is what's wrong with many of today's "Sheikhs" with their drastic and sometimes foolish actions. Many of them have never been properly educated in the fiqhi of da'wah. What did the Prophet (saw) do when he found a Bedoin urinating in the middle of the Masjid? There's the answer.
