Re: ~~ British Accent VS American Accent ~~
A black guy speaking with a british accent (any kind of british accent) can't be taken seriously...makes me think of tight pants, ashy skin and dry crusty lips, wierd haricuts, an effeminate or subservient attitude like a Geoffrey Butler from Fresh Prince of Bel Air...I laugh everytime I am on the phone with relatives from across the atlantic, especially when I hear them say "I have gooot" or "totaaly"

There are many dialects within England. Scousers [Liverpool]. Geordies [Newcastle], London, West Country [Bristol, Plymouth]. Birmingham [which is the worst accent ever of all time].Ismahan123 wrote:@cockney bastard. Accudublilah why you folks cus so much. It'll sound the same to you though lol cos you can't tell the difference. The American accent all sound the same to me, apart from the Texas one. That's a strong accent.

Re: ~~ British Accent VS American Accent ~~
There's variations in American accent too. Most noticable are probably the Northern & Southern accents. But there are also New England (Massachussetes, Vermont, Maine), North Eastern (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, etc), South Eastern (Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Mississippi, etc) South Western (Texas, Oklahoma, etc) Cajun (Lousianna) Mid-Western (Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesotta, etc), Western (Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona), Pacific Plain (California, Oregon, Washington).Beenaale_No1 wrote:It'll sound the same to you though lol cos you can't tell the difference. New York City alone has various accents i.e. Long Islander, Staten Islander, Brooklyn, Bronx, etc. Boston has its own variations. So does Chicago. Philly & Detroit have similar accents even though they are nowhere near each other. Most media outlets use Northern American accent. Most Americans associate Southern accent with low I.Q., confederate heritage and look down on it. The only people who speak it are people who live in the Bible belt in the deep South. But you can find Northern accent spoken all across from the East coast to the West coast. Mostly because the first inhabitants settled in the North East and spread out from there on.

Re: ~~ British Accent VS American Accent ~~
I think the southern hickey accent in america is the most funniest, I can't stand the new york italian accent on women I sounds so annoying apart from that americans speak so loud and slow, whenever I'm on the train and its very loud I can distinctly hear americans from the rest.
As for UK my favourites for comedy are:
Scottish, scouser, geordie, irish
the worst are:
birmingham, yorkshire, south western counties, east london cockney
