well, that's your problem, murji. see, you don't know what you're talking about; but sadly that doesn't stop you from ignorant-speaking. the most essential and basic parts of al-islam for a muslim to know is what pleases allah swt and what displeases him (and exalted is he). basic knowledge that needs no explanation; it should come naturally to a muslim. so we know what pleases allah swt; and if a person carries out some of these known actions, and his beliefs are sound in the light of the book and the sunnah; then, we can say, that person appears (because we can only judge by what's apparent and not what's part of the unseen [only allah swt can]) to please allah swt.
