Qof khasaaro ama baaba' kujira
A LOSER or someone on a path to becoming a loser is one who buys things he/she does not need, with money he/she does not have(debt),
to impress people he/she does not like.
How to avoid to becoming a loser
Liberate your mind by any means necessory. The BEST and most rewarding way to liberate your mind is the search for KNOWLEDGE (real useful and meaningfull knowledge)
This leads to spritual wisdom followed by spritual freedom(free from all unnecceessory wants and desires) then liberation of the mind hence the road to victory will be clear and near. And Loserville will be behind you.

how about just being humble and follow the sunnah....the prophet csw said.."Look at those who stand at a lower level than you but don't look at those who stand at a higher level than you, for this would make the favors (conferred upon you by Allah) insignificant (in your eyes)."(Muslim)

as well as the worship of allah, seeking and obtaining knowledge is what helps one to become humble stops one wanting everything they see others having.

You dont need to buy what other pple have...just buy the things you need and always pay in cash.Never by anything you cant afford.
It's easy to be humble when you think about those who can even afford one meal a day...sadaqo baxso and work for yoma aakhira.
the Prophet, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him. Abdullah ibn al-Shakhir reported,
“I entered upon the Prophet and he was reciting ‘Alhakum al-takathur’:
“Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you.” (Quran 102:1)
He said,
‘The son of Adam would say: ‘My money! My money!’ But do you have, O son of Adam, anything of your money, except that which you ate, and it was put to waste, or that which you wore, till it wore out, or that which you gave in charity, so you have sent it forth (to get its rewards in the Hereafter)?’” (Saheeh Muslim)
---------
See, aduunka waxaa ka raaceya uun waa waxad xídhatey iyo waxaad cuntay iyo wixi add sadaqp oo baxsatey.
He also said csw
“Richness is not in the quantity of possessions (that one has); rather, true richness is the richness of one’s self (or contentment).” (Saheeh Al-Bukhari

firstival Alhair ha ku siiyo - may allah reward your for reply and good advice.
secondley, I think we're both saying the same thing about the issue but we are coming from diffrent directions.
you are talking about the details and am talking about the big picture.
i'm saying one should have knowledge (CILM) and should seek and search for knowledge where ever possible. True, usefull and meaningfull KNOWLEDGE is the knowledge of the qur'an and the sunnah.
Alhamdu lillah, you seem to have the kind of knowledge that i've mentioned in my post, judging from tthe prophet's (SCW) SayingS and the ayaah from the quraan you qouted. Ifsomeone does not know the qur,an and the sunnah of the Prophet(SCW), they will not be albe to avoid becoming a LOSER (KHASAARE/KHAASIRUUN) and falling to the trap of shaitan and the duunya.
If you second look and my original post you will see that i'm trying to encourage the reader to learn and seek this kind of knowlege to avoid getting lost and waste their time and resources(money etc),as well as avoid the purden of debt and not be preoccupied with things that you will not be able to take to the life after the DUNYA, (JUST AS YOU RIGHTLY MENTIONED IN THE ABOVE).
