Why Djibouti Would Want A Strong Somalia
On one side they kinda get bullied by Eritrea and to the South they are one run in with Ethiopia away from getting annexed by them totally. A strong Somalia would give them fellow Somali allies against their own Afar oppositon in Djbouti and the two Tigray Governments. Eritrea and Ethiopia both have been angered at Djibouti's repeated efforts in hosting Somali peace efforts. Both Eritrea/Ethiopia want to continue to use Somalia as a proxy war till the end of eternity.

Murax, do you know that djibouti is a military base for the americans, belgium and one of france's former colonies - although they still hold much power in djibouti. Therefore if djibouti was to ver encounter any problems from neighbouring countries you can bet your @ss that they have back up. Each country who holds a military base there have their own agenda, america's agenda is to monitor muslim countries and if that mission were to ever be jeopordised then they would come down on those aggressors like a ton of bricks. As for france they still see djibouti as their colony and which to keep it peaceful, by any means possible.

Djibouti is too biased towards non Darood clans to ever be an effective mediator in the Somali crisis.

Cumar/Emperior,
Good points however remember Ethiopia is the darling of the US in the Horn of Africa and Eritrea Has already crossed over into Djibouti and intimidated it before. At the end of the day Djibouti is a Muslim Country and it is foolish to think the West would rush to their aid against Ethiopia/Eritrea. The friendship towards Somalia if it were to become a Gov would be more real like Burundi and Rwanda (Both Tutsi Governments)
Xoogsade,
Why would Cisse favor Daroods or Non Daroods?

Somaliland needs to learn from Djibouti, after 40yrs, Djibouti is still vulnerable to outside hyenas, and without a strong Somalia nation in the region to have business and military ties with may not survive.
now Somaliland wants to be another small vulnerable country that will be on Somali life support militarly and economically.

Murux,
Of Course. Mudulood considers Cisse lost Mudulood. I was told that every-time, the former President of Jabuti came to Mogadishu, he was the official guest of the Mudulood Imam.
Even during the first Jabuti reconciliation conference, even Aideed and our other Hiraab brothers said that they don't consider Jabuti neutral since they were Mudulood.
