But despite this in general Somalis there don’t seem to do that well academically and in the labor Market

I read about that nearly 30% of all Somali men under 30 have spent time in a British correctional facility.

I always voted for the USA before my recent trip to UAE and business news reports from Kenya. If success is measured in $$$, I'd say Kenya/UAE. I know that the vast majority of Somalis in the western countries live under or near the poverty line. I don't know if that's true in other regions.

North American Somali's mostly live in Somali ghettoes and yet adopt a completely different culture :| And Africa, just the lack of opportunities if you're not wealthy.

Somalis in the United Arab Emirates:

Over 99,9% of the labor force being employed

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/4535642.stm

There is no other place on earth where Somalis are so productive

Kenya, Tanzania, East African Countries!

Heres My rationale:

The Somalis in the US, Europe are for the most part trash. They get free money, free benefits and have absolutely no incentive to succeed. Ofcourse this isn't all Somalis there, but the good majority. The Dad (If he's there) chose qaat and drinks shah all day talking qabiil, the kids gangbang and the Mothers talk on the phone all day.

Somalis in the UAE/Saudi,

They have potential but the problem is the discriminatory policies against foriegners really hampers them. Having to have a kafiil (Sponser) and other abuses keeps Somalis from getting ahead. Gulf Arabs will never allow foreigners to do better than them.

Somalis in Tanzania/Kenya,

Most successful, relatively speaking. They have the best forumla for skinny success. The thing is Somalis really are not dumb people, if they apply themselves they can be very successful. In Kenya/Tanzania they are not allowed to have guns, isbaaros, etc. they have to live like normal human beings. So a lot of them work hard, are creative and have worked themelves to Where they are a respected people in the population not a liability. In Tanzania/Kenya, the Somali diaspora communities there are the only Somali community in the world, Where they have a reputation for something good, which is having money!

Pretty much in every other Somali diaspora community they have a negative reputation as drags on societies

United Arab Emirates is definitely number one.

Kenya could be a close second, a lot of Somalis run their own businesses there. But the refugees that flood the place give Somalis a bad name.
At least in the UAE it is harder to get in and the Somalis there are generally more decent.
