This current Somaliland or Somaliland in general?

Yes Hadraawi is well respected by all Somalis but he lives in Somaliland under the protection of its flag and sovereignty, something he took part of creating so what happen to than man who said…. Hargaysi ma toostay, HOGAANKA ka ma diiday....hadaanan, hadaan wax hanti haysto, hadaanan hubsiisan, Dadkayga habaynin..dagaal u hor seedin.
He was NOT talking to all Somalis then, rather a particular group (the current Landers).
I'm still waiting the hero doing his part of the reconstruction of this young nation.

Yaanu afku ku qaloocsamain. Gaariye has been very consistant with his political beliefs. Unlike Cabdi Qays and Hadraawi, it starts with Somaliland and it ends there, and he’s not the only one. Ibrahim Gadhle (who I respect the most), Qaasim (my favorite of all time), Ali banfas, Ahmed Saleebaan bide, Tuug Tarabi, Saxardiid Jabiye, Xasan ganay, Shaacir, to name a few, have or had(inta dhimaty ILAAHY ha u naxariisto) the same belief in heart, SOMALILAND

Markaa saaxiib Hadraawi gets more than his share of respect and love in Somaliland. We're just waiting for some of it back. I think that is fair!

Habar Jeclo?

And all this time I thought they never contributed to anything except waging war against Daroods.

Good job! :D

Where should I start?

Hadraawi hasn't done shit since the land was liberated. Since “Gud Gude in 1991, not single poem was recited to promote our young nation and our hard earning freedom where thousand have lost their lives. He never spoke up about our little civil war in mid 90s, when people needed his voice of reasoning so badly, yet he took that long journey to Somalia to promoting peace. For what I don’t know. He later did the same thing in Europe.
There are colleges in Somaliland such as U of Burco, Hargeisa, and Camuud where his knowledge of our dying literature in needed. At least he should have taken that challenge to educate us about Suugaan like he did in Lafoole. That is great way to give back.
The latest blow was his refusal of to be named after that little school in Daami. Which created so much of negative PR for Somaliland.
Truth to be told, most young men joined the SNM because of his poems of inspiration and encouragement to take arms against ruthless dictator. They died for it because they believed in what he was preaching. He could do the same thing today in different setting and platform to at least honor these young men and women.

However, I like what I read today in hadhwanaagnews.com. I see him finally inserting himself in the equation of development and positive growth by articulating same key elements. To criticize the administration for one and communicating to the public directly by telling them to get involve and hold your government accountable. He preached transparency in both sides, the government and the public. I though his interview was good and very engaging. Now let see how he follow up with that,
I like the man and I hold him in higher ground so my expectation of him might sound little unrealistic but I want him at least to be visible in his own accord not when he is invited to attend some of these gatherings. .
