This is something the biggest layman will understand. You can bring Me a room full of Somalis from every clan in Somalia (Excluding minorities such as Bajuun, Bantu, Reer Xamar) and I will not be able to tell who is who. However while I do not know Ethiopian subgroup's geneology, I'm sure Ethiopians can tell apart a Tigray from a Amharic and a Oromo. Somalis are a extremely langaab related subgroup, that were fed lies for centuries.

The reason people in ethiopia can tell each other apart is because where not all the same race of people. Tigrays are a mix of sabean arabs and agaws, Amahras are a mix of tigrays, more agaws and Oromos, and Oromos are just Oromos. We are all different ethnic groups with different backgrounds so don't think we are one group of peoples.

as for the topic, i always new we were all related one way or the other but is this at odds with clan system ? nope, clan system or Qabiil is exactly what tells us that we are related, this genetics just confirms it.
