Can you help translate this?

Post by BlackVelvet »

It's been bugging me that I don't know some of these words. Translate or point out where I got it wrong please, so far I think I've got most of it

hurdo kama bogtoo
Sleep doesn't (bogtoo is ill right?)
barkin baan ku tiirshaa
I'm leaning on the pillow
boga iyo calooshee
My back and my tummy
beerkaan u seexdaa
I sleep on my liver
barbarada ma qabanaayee
Something? doesn't hold
anigoo burburayoo
While I am falling apart
dhinacyadu i barareen
My sides are swollen
waagu ii bariistee
Dawn/morning has come over me
boogtii jacaylka
The wound of love
wuxuu i baday
?
ayaan iga ba'aynee
Is not going away/finishing
intii aan bad qabayee
While I have bad?
hawshiisu igu badan
The work is too much
haba baran lahaayaa
I'm thinking to teach?
haw u bixin lahaayaa
haw? I cannot give away
imikoon besteey ahay
Right now is beesteey?
baroor miyaa wax ii qaban
What is baroor? Makes me think of baruur

bogsan maaya oo
Is not finishing
bilic iyo nasiibkey
Bilic? and my luck
midna ku baxsan waayee
Neither can help me escape
cadceedaa bidhaantaa
?
ila baafin weydee
Doesn't help me spread the news?
bilwaliba bishii kale
Every month the next month
igu sii balamisee
You postpone our meeting
badal iigu dhiibtee
as above
berriyo maanta
Yesterday and today
baxnaanadeedaan
?
nafta been u sheegee
I lie to myself
intii aan bad qabayee
While I...?

You always make me laugh BV. I don't think you can translate it directly word for word. I'll help you with the first one lakiin.

Hurdo kama bogtoo = doesn't get tired of sleep. Someone who is always sleeping basically. :P

Firefly, Wrong! Hurdo kama boogtee means I can never find enough sleep or sleep is never enough.

Boga=epi-gastric not the back
That's its actual physical location, but Soomaalida use it to mean the heart/qalbiga.

Barkin baan ku tiirsha=I use the pillow to cushion my aching heart/boga.

Beerkaan u seexdaa, barbarada ma qabanaaye=I sleep on my chest, because my sides won't do.

By the time dawn comes, I'm nothing but in shambles, with my sides swollen, look at what the mark of love has left me with.

etc

hurdo kama bogtoo
Sleep doesn't (bogtoo is ill right?) (bogto is to get enough of, so she is sleeping lots because she is depressed or something)
barkin baan ku tiirshaa
I'm leaning on the pillow
boga iyo calooshee
My back and my tummy (bogga is the tummy too, where you feel laab jeex lol)
beerkaan u seexdaa
I sleep on my liver
barbarada ma qabanaayee
Something? doesn't hold (barbaro is like jidka, shes saying she is lost and not 'straight or right')
anigoo burburayoo
While I am falling apart
dhinacyadu i barareen
My sides are swollen
waagu ii bariistee
Dawn/morning has come over me
boogtii jacaylka
The wound of love
wuxuu i baday
? (what (badness) its caused me)
ayaan iga ba'aynee
Is not going away/finishing
intii aan bad qabayee
While I have bad? (I think she means she is literally drowning)
hawshiisu igu badan
The work is too much
haba baran lahaayaa
I'm thinking to teach? (I told myself not to learn it)
haw u bixin lahaayaa
haw? I cannot give away (not to give it attention)
imikoon besteey ahay
Right now is beesteey? (I'm sick/done for/in a very bad way - from 'bas')
baroor miyaa wax ii qaban
What is baroor? Makes me think of baruur (lol no it means to cry like someones died, really badly cry)

bogsan maaya oo
Is not finishing (I wont heal)
bilic iyo nasiibkey
Bilic? and my luck (?)
midna ku baxsan waayee
Neither can help me escape
cadceedaa bidhaantaa
? (bidaantaa is looks/appearance...like 'bidaantaa markaan arko ayaan farxaa and cadceed is sunshine/brightness)
ila baafin weydee
Doesn't help me spread the news? (it wont help me find it)
bilwaliba bishii kale
Every month the next month (from one month to the next)
igu sii balamisee
You postpone our meeting (you keep asking to meet)
badal iigu dhiibtee
as above (you've hurt me with your (constant) change (of heart)
berriyo maanta
Yesterday and today
baxnaanadeedaan
? (baxanaano is a trial/test)
nafta been u sheegee
I lie to myself
intii aan bad qabayee
While I...?
(I think - constantly drown in an ocean/sea)

I think I'm right somewhat, Lol. Why do people say waxaas kama bogtid miyaa etc? Ama cuntadaan waa uu bogay? It means when you don't get tired of stuff.

She's actually saying 'wuxuu i baadey'..no baday, so it actually means - staying out late/somewhere unknown...like being left out in the cold
