Oldenglish, Maydh isn't Makhiir this is not las qoray.
Re: History of Maydh
paidmonk, the map is not right though in reality beesha controls all the east coast and west coast of erigavo starting from xis yar near xiis all the way to hundegal in the border going down karin turwaa which is not that far from las qoray, that is the reality so this map is bogus anyway.
Re: History of Maydh
Emperior, do you know in the late 80 and early 90's before the liberation of somaliland Maydh was the only place where the SNM use to dock weapons from? since berbera was occupied at that time by the siad barre regime but the siad barre regime never dared to occupy or come near the holy settlement of Maydh and where the tomb of sheikh isxaaq is located.

Later, Somali ancestors came to the area, the best documented of these was Sheikh Isahaq (Sheekh Isaxaaq), who, according to tradition, moved to Somalia from Arabia in the 12th or 13th century CE. Sheikh Isaaq is considered to be the founding father of the large Isaaq clan that primarily inhabits the Somaliland region of Somalia, as well as Djibouti and the Ogaden. Sheikh Isaaq's domed tomb is also located here.[1] The graves of the ancestors of the Issa and Gadabuursi clans, whose territories are several hundred miles away, are also located nearby.[2] As of 2010, Maydh is settled by the Habar Yoonis lineage of Isaaq.
It's interesting to note in the book futah al habasha they mention Maydh's inhabitants as being Harti, so my question is what happened to those hartis were they pushed out of Maydh?
Re: History of Maydh
Koohi Gartay sxb, it's strange how most of somali clan ancestors are buried in sanaag.

BTW, How Were The Clans Mentioned ?
Re: History of Maydh
Harla is a ancient tribe like the Gurgure, i forgot to add i think the Gurgure were also mentioned in the book
, as for how the clans where mentioned well most were mentioned in battle fields such as the somali tribes go to harar and those who went to harar first were the Habar Magaadi under their chief Axmed Guray Husayn.

I think some chapters can be found online but not the whole book, you have to buy that 1 from either amazon or ebay or some other bookstore.
