Eto'o comes back to play on defense*Nobleman* wrote:Air Canada wrote:Nobleman is a not so bad expert in these kind of things but i think Oxidant is right when he says Eto'o is a better finisher than Drogba. Eto'o is faster and way more skillful of the two which makes him more deadly near the goal. Eto'o used to score 30+ a season for several years whereas Drogba averages 10-15 a season except for this season.
And the reason why Eto'o performance declined in Italy is because of two reasons 1) players who go to Italy after playing La Liga usually find it difficult to adopt to the Italian style of football 2) he wasn't playing in his natural position so that is why he never scored many goals this season. Oxidant is also right when he says Eto'o always shines at big games more than Drogba.
Fair point from you and shirib. But I'd certainly take drogba ahead of eto'o today even though drogba is older and so would about any other manager. Drogba is also good with set pieces and has put away a fair few free kicks. In my opinion eto'o only has him beat on pace, but cant come near him in many other attributes. Also drogba fired an average team marseille to the uefa cup final, where as eto'o was sidelined by real madrid who once owned him.
Even on the games where he scores nothing he seems to be really critical for the team. If Drogba doesn't score, its as if he didn't play
just a couple of other things Eto'o is also better than Drogba at,
btw I think Drogba is the better striker, but I'd take Eto'o on my team cause I think he does some thing that are intangible to winning, that Drogba doesn't do
