Indeed childhood has now been cut off from you...........

Post by fisabililah »

assalamu caleykum, brothers and sisters. this thread is a few words to show us how important it is to remind each other. and command each other with khayr.

Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal said, 'I haven't seen anyone in the course of time who established the Commands of Allah more than Muhammad ibn Nuh. He said to me that day (days of the trial), 'O Abu Abdillah! Be wary of Allah. You are not like me for you are a man followed as a role-model. The necks of the people have stretched out to you, to see what will become of you. So fear Allah and be steadfast in the Commands of Allah.' Then he died and I prayed over him, and then buried him.

On the day that Imam Ahmad was punished, it was said to Bishr ibn al-Harith, 'To this hour, Ahmad ibn Hanbal has been whipped 17 times.' He (Bishr) stretched out his leg and looked at it saying, 'What an ugly leg this would be if it does not become fettered in chains out of support for this man!'

Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah was advised by his father who said to him when he reached 15 years of age: 'Indeed childhood has now been cut off from you so follow the khayr (goodness) and you will become of its people.' He (Sufyan) said, 'So I made my father's advice a focal point in front me such that I only ever incline to it and never detract from it.'

Imam al-Dhahabi said, 'Al-Hafidh al-Qasim ibn Muhammad al-Birzali (rahimahullah) was the one who sowed my love for seeking knowledge of Hadith. He saw my handwriting and said, 'Your handwriting resembles the handwriting of the Muhaddithin!' And so his words affected me and I took to seeking knowledge from him…
