General SNM,
Mr. Siilaanyo will get the support of every Somali if he embraces the unity of Somalia and uses his prestige to resolve all Somali issues and work on to bridge differences between Somali groups. He seems to have some understanding and working relationship with the religious establishment and seems to be showing some independence from Ethiopia. If he remains that course and reach out to all of Somalis and embrace what unites all Somalis, I doubt there is any Somali who will not support him. But in order to do that, he also needs the support of the Isaaqs.
Khalid Ali,
Majority of Reer Hagar were in the Dervishes movement. There was a small section of reer Hagar who opposed it. The Ducaale fagaase that you are qouting was a man in his time who rules hawd and didn't want to share or pledge allegiances to Sayid.
Btw, stop teaching us about the history of the Dervishes movement. It was us who paid the ultimate price of supporting that movement. Otherwise, your uncle Ali Jama Haabiil would not have said this:
Ararsame* ma toocsado fardaha tahansigiisiiye
tafantoofe nimankii Nugaal tayso ku lahaaye
Maxamuud Garaad turuntaradii ayuu weli tiicaaye
Tays laguma Bah-Ararsamihii turuga weynaaye.

Re: So...
Actually the black adam were wholly Dervish supporters more so then some of your Dhulbahnte tribes. So my question still stands does Dervish mean Dhulbahnte or do you embrace the Mujahid?Babygirl- wrote:Support SNM?![]()

Since the Dervishes movement were dominated by Dhulbahante and some of reerka opposed him and they were attacked, it became something for you folks to brag about it. Ok how about these:
Look at here:
Laughing at the state of destitution that you have been reduced to while you had the British empire on your side.
The British guy admitted in loosing 101 men and suffering 85 wounded. History were made by men.
Those Dervishes were killing gaalos.
Still laughing at friendly tribes.
In Somali, qabaailka Soomaalida ee dabadhilifka u ahaa gaalka xaylka leh ee Ingiriiska ahaa.

Who were these guys who were being occupied, raided, murdered and their livestocks looted? Of course the I--- boysIt was in 1899 that he gave the first intimation to the Government that he was going to be a thorn in their side. In August of that year he collected a strong force, marched to Burao, occupied the town, and declared himself the Mahdi. He used Burao as a convenient centre from which he could carry out raids against the various tribes, murdering them without discrimination, and looting their livestock.
Look at here:
Friendly tribes == Isaaqs.Six months later, however, he was back again at Burao, raiding the friendly tribes as happily as ever, and reducing them to a state of destitution by the wholesale capture of their sheep, cattle, and camels. In May 1902 Colonel Swayne made another effort, this time supplementing his Somali levies with a detachment of King's African Rifles, recruited from the Yoas of Nyassaland. Again the Mullah fled across the Sorl Haud into Itahan territory. Permission was obtained from the Italian Government to follow him, but on 6th October 1902 one of our detachments fell into an ambush, which the Mullah had prepared for them at Erigo, and, though after a hot fight we put the dervishes to flight, we lost 101 killed and 85 wounded, with the result that we were unable to follow up the Mullah when he retired to Galadi, on the borders of Abyssinia and Italian Somaliland.
