Nobody is saying marrying your cousin will result in Handicapped children, they're saying blood related individuals take a much GREATER risk by producing kids with diseases as recessive genes are more likely to be expressed.



As soon as a non-muslim person provides medical argument with proven facts, Muslims throw up their defences and take no heed whatsoever. Time and time again we see Imams and those in position of leadership coming across as foolish on TV. He was aware of the subject of the interview, a simple search would have taught him that there is a health problem affecting his community disproportionately. Instead he came across as reluctant, uncaring and doubful. A simple statement to say that the mosque are concerned about it and they will inform and raise awareness would have sufficed. Why did he agree to go on TV if his answers consisted of "i dont know".
