Sending money back home to relatives helps peace

Post by gemstar »

My cousin's parents both were died when he was young. He was a teenager when the militia in Mogadisu tried to recruit and pay him to fight. He refused because he was gets money every month from us. He didn't need money. Instead now he is using that money to raise his new wife and kid. When people don't have money they get taken advantage of. If you want peace in Somali send money. So when the milita asks your teenage cousin to fight he can say no.

Child soldiers is not a new phenomenon. In many ways it is a praiseworthy act if they are defending their nation from the Neanderthals of Burundi and Uganda.
