Personally I believe daacad bay ka tahay and that he really wants to bring a positive change to somaliland. For instance one of his ministers who's in charge of the finance (I'm not sure of the postion or his name) recently released some figures of high profit in somaliland regarding taxing qat dealers, I think this was a smart decision by that minister and shows the intention of this government. All in all I'm expecting big things from them insha'allah.

Question to fellow somalilanders..
My question is how long would you give President Siilaanyo before you make a judgement on what his government/party has achieved so far? Also what would you say is your opinion of his governance so far.

It maybe too early to form an opioion at least for me.
tax qaad dealers? they should be banned or restricted ASAP. How can you use haram money as a source of public funds? These activities should be discouraged, not only in Somaliland across Somalia.

Seemeyer, OK then I'll give them 100 days
Executive, I agree however you are underestimating the consequences if that were to happen. With these sort of issues you can't just go for an outright ban but slowly you force them to give up in their own time and if taxing them does the trick then I'm all for it. Just like the UK do you think that they could just ban tobacco there would be furore, that's why they have used smart tactics:
-Increase tax on tobacco
-Ban from smoking indoors in all public places aswell as train stations etc

Re: Question to fellow somalilanders..
You should be asking what you can personally do and not what your presidenty has done for that Somali region. The motto for every Somali should be what he can do to help his home region and Somalia as a whole but not what the leaders do. Unless dealership commits major blunders, each Somali should be doing self evaluation. What matter back home in all Somali regions is peace and as long as he maintains that, the rest of the expectation is meaningless. You live in the west and can do a lot back home. At least help fund primary, middle, and secondary schools. Help a low income family, help the orphanages, and help community co-existence. If you can do that, the rest is a story.Cumar-Labasuul wrote:My question is how long would you give President Siilaanyo before you make a judgement on what his government/party has achieved so far? Silaanyo lacks the media skills of Riyale. He seems a bit old Skool.
