In the last clashes, the Ugandans and Burundians suffered a defeat but I also think that the disgreement is there, it may be smaller and it may be bigger. According to the word on the street is some of the middle commanders with pragmatic views have been assasinated and Roobow believes the leadership is behind it. People are also saying most of the casualties in the latest clashes are suffered by fighters from Bay and Bakool regions. Another sticking point is Godane is promoting his cousins in the top leadership and that has angered many other leaders from the South where the most of the mujahideen originate from. according to kismayonians there's is going to an all out war between alshabab and a few thousand pro-government forces with ethiopian tactical support that will cross the border from gedo any day. alshabab group is taking every available man and weapon to the front line for this looming war. It is possible people saw a lot of shababs leaving Kismayo and interpreted it as a collapse within the organisation.

I heard a radio interview with one of the guys credited for this pro-government army who said he is/was (not sure current/former) minister of defence in the TFG. He said the president (sharif) is against attacking kismayo and wanted this army in Mogadishu. He admitted their decision to stick with kismayo plan strained his relationship with sheik sharif - they severed ties and no longer talk to each other. Maybe the whole fuzz is about this new front that can open any day. Or maybe the breakup is true.

This war is being fought by other powers outside of Somalia and neither side of the conflict is going to win as long as Somalis are divided. If Alqaeda wins they will impose their strict sharia interpretation while America will will bring pure capitalism. The choice is ours, balance them out and let the fight continues for generations or adopt one of the two.

Udun, that's no true. Sheikh Hassan was offered and could have been taken off the list in exchange for joining Shariffs government. If you remember when Shariff returned from exile to lead the tfg there was alot of propaganda against alshabab, they muqdisho elders were stirring up tribal hatred against them, ictisam scholars said no one should attack Amisom and many Somalis started to support Shariff. But Sheikh Hassan came to Muqdisho and the rest is history. I heard his elders called to a meeting and told him to support the gov, but he told them he was a man of god and not a man of tribe.
