Give them a mundane but controversial topic. Something like: "How do you make tea?"
It may sound simple to you but try it and see how controversial it would become. You'll even get people arguing about what goes first, the milk or the sugar? Or some telling you that in Gedo (to use a random place) the tea is mixed up with tiny diamonds, etc.

I tell you a trick. When someone responds to your topic, you post a response afterwards. If nobody picks up from there, wait for about a day and then post another comment. That will keep it in the top of the section and people will see it.

Some people also developed some friendship here where they constantly compliment each other. So, that is another game where some people are keeping their threads commented so often. It is all about group thing.
