So it makes sense that cigarettes and alchohol is legal whilst khat is illegal, I have never heard reports that khat has killed someone.

Cigarettes and alcohol companies generate massive income for the government while Khat doesn’t. Large section of the population regularly use Cigarettes and alcohol while most don't even know the existence of it. Khat is the second worst thing Somali discovered after Qabil
