No, Egypt is a cruicial ally in the unity of Somalia because they want to secure their own interests via the Nile.

So, if the Arabs were to choose between Somalia or Somaliland, what would they rather pick?Alluring wrote:
For them there is no benefit in Somaliland becoming a country, and most importantly for Somalia as a whole to be unified. There reward is based on "war" not on "peace".
The only people on planet earth that listen to the words of Arabs are Somalis. No other civilization or group of people takes them seriously, and for someone's ego (an ego that has been defeated more times than a Power Rangers villian) they need Somalis to be their peasants, and give someone directions.
The unification of Somalia becomes a THREAT to Ethiopia's economical process. Furthermore, it becomes a threat to the Gulf of Aden oil rigs.

Neither. And Arabs are not a powerful entity to say what they want or don't want.
The only thing they can do is give each faction weapons to kill the each other off, which they have been doing for years. Like I said the reward is in "war" not "peace".
Do some reserach on peace talks involving Somalia and you'll be shocked to see why they always fail, and for the most part it is even the Somali doing.

What some people fail to relize is that the isaaq clan full out do somaliland by them selves. even though we have gudaboursi support and some harti Somaliland can still happen with hardcore issaq support. Eritrea was a tigray tribe only project and afar and other tribes on for incorporated into the nation with old borders.
