Thre were no Somali or oromo at the time.
There were two species of nasty baboons which evolved and became Oromo and somali around 700 years ago!

A respected sheekh who travelled a lot in the horn of africa was once heard saying that some Somali tribes ( living in complete autarcy in their desert), and some highland oromo tribes( never came in contact with outsiders) have still some tails that they hide under heavy macwis.
