lol@Banaadiris being 10,000 strong in all of Somalia.

paidmonk,

You never cease to amaze me with your numbers. I hope you realize there are dark Banaadiris too who claim to be Shaanshi, Muruqle, Basarici, etc? How would anyone be able to distinguish them from regular Somalis unless they were asked? They wouldn't. See, this is the problem with pulling numbers from thin air. None of us can conclusively give a definitive number for any of these groups, because they are a closely-knitted minority that limits its interactions with the rest of Somalis. But, I'll tell you something - there have always been more "minority" clans than anyone was willing to admit or accept in Somalia, specially in the South. Much of Jubba and a sizable portion of Shabelle are inhabited by the "others"

Like I said, Bantu clans number around 1 million, Gabooye/Madhibaan number over 1,000,000, I don't doubt that - I'm the first voice on Somalinet years ago who rightly proclaimed that our so-called minorities are in fact the majority, and that Dir/Darood/Hawiye make up less than 40% of the total Somali population.

BUT, the Benadiris mentioned in the article are the descendants of Arabs, and I remember them as the "Whiteys." The Whiteys of Somalia were quite affluent, they weren't in this peasant race to produce record numbers of babies, their population was always modest in number. Any census from peacetime tells you that Arab-descendants numbered 30,000 including their darker-skinned members. So, after mass exodus from the country and death, I can't see how their population shot up by multiple thousand per cents, I'm surprised they haven't gone extinct. Now, whether Black or White its still fairly easy to tell them apart from the rest of the population and to this day I have only seen one of them in the many videos and photos coming out of Somalia, whereas I see, with my own eyes, that Bantus are plenty.

A lot of the Bantus are or claim to be Banaadiris since they inter-marry but I still say these numbers are exaggerated.

I wish i had a husband, but sadly, I'm ugly. Doubt a "bantu" man or any men for that matter would want me. :(

Not really sure why you strongly oppose the reality on the ground with regards to the so called “minorities” in Somalia.
Its a given fact on this forum that your IQ floats around the lower 70s so I can't even comprehend this statement of yours.

Let me put it in layman's terms:

-> Benadiris are the affluent Whiteys, as opposed to the middle-class Barawani (the other Whiteys)
-> They can't be more than 10,000 strong in all of Somalia, they were only 30,000 during peacetime and 90% have fled, so 10,000 is their absolute highest number.
-> The Gabooye and Tumaal are hard to spot but these Whiteys can be spotted from a mile away and they're never featured in any videos/photos of Somalia unlike the Bantu whose presence is evident in every photo of Somalia

I can't see why you're trying to make this more difficult than it is. I don't doubt that Bantus and Madhibaan are near or above a million, but the little cad-cads are not part of this numbers race.
If 90% fled somalia then how can there still be 10k in somalia, wouldn't that be 3000 left in somalia?

Also 1million bantus doesn't seem right, most of them have been incorporated into clans like abgaal so then how could you truly know their number

I said 10,000 is the absolute highest number of Banadiris, its more of a cap than an estimate. If they're more than 10,000 then Bantus are 10 million considering that Bantus are far more visible.
