This is part of the double track approach that the west has recently announced. All western security and intelligence arragements towards Somalia are done thru Ethiopia. We, Somalis, in the diaspora should lobby congressmen/women, senators, member of parliaments in the countries that we are living and demand that the west to stop dismantling the Somali Republic and stop coordinating with Ethiopia in all of security arrangements towards Somalia.

The tragedy that Somalis have found themselves today is if you do follow the west's line towards Somalia, you have to bwe Ethiopia's trojan horse. If you don't follow that line, you become terrorist or being designed as a terrorist.

Fyi, Keep in mind both Siilaanyo and Faroole have initially resisted these policies but the line was already drawn.

I think it is time that we, Somalis, should see the bigger picture.

Money talks... before you ask a fragile organisation that exists on Aid money to resist the demands of the Donor advice on alternative funding sources... until then we know it they know it and nothing will change

In my view, no need to advice alternative funding sources but I believe you are an expert in this area (Just don't ask me why) so couldn't argue with you in that front. The best for Somalis to do is advice to these western countries is they provide directly the funding to TFG, SL, PL, and any other Somali entity without having Ethiopia as the middle men. By funnelling all of the funding for security arrangements to another country, a funding that was intended for Somalia, they are basically making Somalis to accept Ethiopian hegemony.

That's to be expected since neither of them have mind, will nor power of their own. They can only do whatever anyone willing to use them tells them to do. No wonder no one takes their so called governments seriously...how can you claim to be a sovereign nation when you let another country meddle in your affairs and give you orders on a whim...

Don't you think the current TFG administration should be included, matter of fact, be on top of the chart?. Sovereign nation?. Do you mean Somalia or Somaliland & Puntland?.

Well, this was about Somaliland and Puntland....the case of the south is slightly different since it is a warzone with no single ruler or administration. With regards to the sovereignty, I was referring to Somaliland and also to a lesser extent Puntland.

It has nothing to do with South Somalia’s current anarchy or wars, given that, we are discussing TFG as an administration and not the regions/population. On the other hand, Puntland is not a sovereign state (definitely, not seeking independence), but self-regulating state within Somalia.
