Somalinet has been getting used as a primary insight into Somali issues by outside media and organizations for years, this site is basically seen as the official Somali mouthpiece on the web.Somalis disagree about the cause of the violence. After experiencing bloody clan warfare during the Somali Civil War, the older generation is quick to point to tribalism. It's a topic that pops up frequently in online chat rooms, police point out. "Basically, the Madhiban guys killed two brothers and they lost the little kid that was killed a month ago," wrote someone with the screen name MJ-Pride on SomaliNet on the day that Nurki, the Coyle basketball coach and youth mentor, was murdered.

Every thing Somali is being monitored. No doubt about that. Somalinet must be the hotest places for fishers, but also for Journalists and anyone who is interested in Somalia.
We have nothing to hide. The only thing that fairs me is if things said distorted, manipulated, mis-constracted, taken out of context. Other than that they are very welcome to monitor us
