TFG: Activities at the harbor will not be allowed to stop

)One day after Somali MP attacked at Mogadishu international seaport forcing all activities to be halted, Ahmed Abdi Kahiye, a seaport official on Tuesday denied all those reports, saying the seaport is right open and working.

Mr. Kahiye told Shabelle that some disruption took place at the seaport yesterday after Mohammed jama’ Furuh, a Somali MP has forcibly got into the harbor and disperse the workers and porters who had been working at the area.

“All activities at Mogadishu international harbor would continue” he said, adding the Somali MP has no business what is going on there.

On Monday, Mohammed Jama’ Furuh, Somali parliamentarian, who halted seaport’s activities, said that he closed down it after receiving messages suggesting corruption had been committed by officials who run the seaport.

Mr. Furuh said the seaport’s activities would be freed when they get clear evidences showing how the income be spent transparently.

“No activities would be conducted at harbor, until we know how the income and taxes spend” the MP told Shabelle.

However, Mohammed Jama’ Furuh, Somali parliamentarian used to control the Mogadishu seaport while faction leaders were in charge of Mogadishu.
