Can I go to heaven if I don't believe in God?

I used to actually be very religious when I was younger but lately I find the need to pray or even need religion in my life as unnecessary. First of all I'm living by myself with not alot of other Somalis around so there is no pressure to try and fit in by doing what everyone else is doing. So its been years since I've last prayed or even read the quran.

I'm still the same person and still don't eat pork although I sometimes drink alcohol. But all in all if I can live a decent good life in which I care and love for others, why does it matter whether I pray 5 times a day or not?

Does God judge us by whether we are good for goodness sake OR be good out of fear of hell?

To me its ridiculous that if I live my life exactly the same as the religious man but I just have a hard time accepting that God truly exists, that I should go to hell and he to heaven. What sense does that make?

What are you talking about. To be muslim all you have to do is one thing:

Believe in God, that their is only 1 god and his name (of many 99) is Allah and that his prophet and messenger is Muhammad(pboh).

Thats it, if you don't believe in that then your not muslim.

I'm not the best muslim, I miss prayers and don't read the quran but know a few surah's.

But come on man you have strayed to far. Start from scratch. Forget about sins, acting like muslim.

Just start with believing in 1 god and prohet Muhammad(pboh) then get ready for the next pillars and steps.

What sense is there to exist without believing in God. Not Praying 5 times a day does not make u a none believer. It just makes u a sinner Or less than Muslim. But fundamentally, not believing in God is bad. Its utterly arrogant. I think u need to change your mode of thinking, since athiests like u, value rationality over faith. So here is a new rationality for ya----Hell does not exist to instill fear on people. Hell exists because it the consequency of breaking a law, of a punishment. Just like the earthly laws--do u walk around fearing to be arrested and locked in prison? No, u dont. (unless u are an active criminal)


Change your rationality by thinking-- Allaah swt set us laws and guidelines to follow. These are obligations required for u to follow to be called a good mulim, and consequently to avoid being punished if you dont follow. But more funadamentally, is the ability to believe in God that you should have. That is free, and does not require u to do anything physically. Just open your heart and let Allaah swt in, and you will be happier. Dont be arrogant. You cant walk around thinking u are great.

I mean---just because u too a few biology classes-- u cant just doubt the existance of God. take that class you have taken and reverse it in thinking. Think that ---God has created this remarkable biology world. Imagine the mechanics of our immune system alone .Repeat after me dear, Allaahu Akbaar.
